Tesco "Bags of Help" Grant Application Successful

Miss Swallow and Sophie Anderson, S2 in the centre.
On Tuesday 23rd February Sophie Anderson an S2 member of the EAGer bunch accompanied Miss Swallow to the Tesco Store in Inverurie.  They met with members of the other two garden projects that Tesco have chosen to award funds from the Bags of Help scheme.

Ellon Academy Vegetable garden is in line to receive £8,000.  This will help to lay fully accessible paths, build raise beds and some seating and buy plants and seeds.  A public vote begins Saturday 27th Feb until Sunday March 6th.  Shoppers will be given a token with their receipt at the checkout and can choose any of the three projects to support.  Online shoppers can take their receipt into a store to get a token to vote as well.

The other two projects are Cultercullen Community Park - a two acre site (previously almost derelict) being converted to a woodland garden and Aboyne Primary School Sensory Garden which they hope will benefit pupils, staff and the local community.  Whilst these are all extremely worthwhile projects, we hope those of you reading this blog will vote for our Ellon Academy Garden Projects!

If we get voted into second or first place, our funding would rise to £10,000 or £12,000 respectively.  The extra money would be put towards laying fully accessible paths into the Memorial Garden which means so much to so many people.

So please - shop as often as possible next week and GET VOTING!  Let's see if we can make it happen!
